Volunteering with VWT
Thank you for showing an interest in sharing your time, skills and knowledge to contribute towards mammal research and conservation in Ireland.
Current opportunities
Are you based in Kerry and looking for a wildlife volunteering opportunity?
You may be interested in volunteering as a Bat Reserve Roost Recorder – more details:
- We are looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to help us count lesser horseshoe bats roosting in ‘bat reserves’ in County Kerry.
- You’ll need to be able to drive to the locations, use equipment to count the bats (training provided) and have a good attention to detail.
- This opportunity requires volunteers to commit to at least two counts during the monitoring period (early May to early July).
- Volunteers will need to work as a team with support from VWT staff.
Anyone who would like to take part and volunteer must attend a training workshop held in Kenmare on Saturday 20 April from 4pm. There are limited spaces available.
If you are interested, please contact Laura, Volunteering and Community Engagement Officer, at enquiries@vincentwildilfe.ie for more information.
